Cowko helps users track recurring visits to places such as cowork spaces, gyms, classes, cafes, and other venues.
Information We Collect
- Venue details you provide (for example, name and optional photo).
- Visit records you create (check-ins and check-outs).
- Optional cost/expense information you enter.
- Optional location coordinates only when you choose to set a venue location.
- App preferences (for example, selected currency and language).
- Account information when you sign in (email address and account provider such as Email, Google, or Apple).
How We Use Information
- To provide core app features such as visit tracking and spend summaries.
- To display your venues and history in list and map views.
- To synchronize your data securely across devices when you are signed in.
- To send local reminder notifications for open check-ins when enabled.
- To maintain and improve app reliability and user experience.
Authentication and Sync
Cowko uses Firebase services to support authentication and cloud data sync when you sign in.
- Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication (Email, Google, and Apple sign-in options).
- Signed-in user data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your account.
- If you previously used Cowko as a guest, your local data may be migrated to your signed-in account.
Permissions
- Camera: Used only when you choose to take a venue photo.
- Photo Library: Used only when you choose to select a venue photo from your device.
- Location: Used only when you choose to set a venue location.
- Notifications: Used to send check-out reminders when enabled by you.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
We use service providers that process data on our behalf to operate the app (for example, Google Firebase for authentication and cloud storage).
Data Retention
Guest data stored on-device is retained until you delete it in-app or remove the app. Signed-in cloud data is retained until deleted in-app, removed from your account, or as required for legal, security, or backup purposes.
Your Choices
- You can edit or delete venues and check-ins at any time.
- You can choose not to provide optional photo, cost, or location data.
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- You can disable notification permission at any time in your device settings.
- You can sign out at any time from the app settings.
Children's Privacy
Cowko is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
